The picturesque mountain village Maloviste, populated by ethnic Vlachs with over 500 houses, mainly built in stone, flourished during the late 18-th and the 19-th centuries. In the natural center of the settlement in 1856 a three aisle church was erected, dedicated to the holy martyr Petka. This church is prominent for its size, the wood carved iconostasis from 1892 by the master Dimitry, and the icons from the painters Trpo and Dico Zograf.
